reading about suicide cults made me very sad. is it really the case that being a human is so undesirable? anyway, this image features the nike decades worn by heaven's gate members during their ritual suicide. 39 people died and they were all wearing their nike decades. i wonder, was that a decision inspired by God? did God think being fitted up like that was the modern equivalent of Solomon in all his splendour? from my limited research into mysticism, it seems that God mostly watches from afar and says hello only rarely. did He say hi to the heaven's gate members before they left, or was he silent? at the very least, i hope they made it to a place where they can be kinder to themselves. it's all so strange.
